Post-quake waves of fudge

It was a night of thoughtful and at times very moving speeches.  Some exceptional use of language – we clearly are a club of word-smiths.

Tasha blew us away with her beautifully-crafted speech on post-quake Christchurch, capturing the mood, rebirth and even the language with this new city.  Then Scott took us on the search to find ‘The perfect wave’, leading by example, how to paint images for the audience using rhetorical devices.  Finally Dave B. lead us through a very moving and very personal speech regarding some recent events.  This speech had the audience totally captivated, listening intently to every sentence.
After Jan so casually rolled out russian fudge at supper (We love your baking Jan), she proceeded to roll out a large board of stick-on, choose-your-own-random-fate table topics!  Simple, but oh-so-effective, we heard about Ade’s favourite actor / actress, Scott’s favourite t-shirt, Ellie’s favourite cafe, Tim’s best type of car and JP’s top book.
An entertaining, thought-provoking & educational evening.  Just awesome.

See you all next time!
