On February 19that Cathedral City we had the well-organized and inspirational Hannah as our Toastmaster for the evening. She had stories of life lessons intertwined throughout her chairing of the evening, one even involving a water blaster.
We then had Richard as grammarian with “CHALLENGE” as the word for the evening. Followed by Jan with a Bard about teaching children empathy through community work.
Diane was next up with her speech titled “Area Contests and Email Consents,” explaining to our audience the struggles and challenges she faces as area director, organizing contests around the Canterbury region. Go and check your spam folders, there is probably an email from Diane in there…
This was followed up by an educational from Kahu on evaluations and how they are the lifeblood of a successful Toastmasters club. His presentation was informative, authentic and inspiring for members to put more time and effort into giving the best possible evaluations they can.
Nick was our table topics master well prepared with famous well-known quotes from influential members of society. This allowed speakers to take the topic where they wanted and allowed creative freedom with their presentations. We had David, Kathleen, Matt, Craig, Alison and Amanda. A great round of impromptu speaking and guest introductions.
A big thanks to all of our evaluators, delivering the good stuff, the “lifeblood” back to our speakers; Matt, JP, Ryan, Richard, Craig and Tim.
Next week we have our area contest, hosted by Cathedral City at our home base and we can’t wait to see you all there!!
