A humorous contest

Tonight was the 2013 Cathedral City Contest evening, and oh what a night!

First up was the Table Topics competition with the topic of the evening, “A memorable moment in my life was …”.  We were treated to a variety of replies, from first encounters at the Vatican, to a chilly marriage proposal, university graduation celebrations, mysterious visions of winning a running race and even an embarrassing moment at school assembly!

After a slap of tea and a round of white-chocolate muffins from Jan we cracked into the humorous speeches.  Tim kicked off with a recount of his experiences with a 1983 Honda, then Rohit had us all laughing as he so elegantly described all the benefits of procrastination.  Jonathan had us falling off our seats in hysterics as he described the telling signs of Hurry Sickness then Dave gave a splendid humorous analysis of three types of crazy drivers he shares the road with.  Gary wrapped it all up with Time Management 101, a hilarious, and somewhat unconventional approach to managing time.

There was one winner for the entire evening tonight – Jonathan took out a clean sweep in both sections.  Congratulations Jonathan!  And congratulations all who made the evening such a success.  See you all next time.
