Tonight was the Cathedral City Toastmasters Annual General Meeting – that pivotal time of the year where our outgoing club officers report on the year that was, and we elect a new team of members for the forthcoming Toastmasters year.
With a big smile, outgoing VP Membership Dave Y. was delighted to report on the 12 month growth of the club, having added 11 new members for the period.
VP Public Relations, Tim talked about goals and challenges met for the 2013/2014 period, particularly with the development of the club’s website. Tim was thrilled to now have CCTM listed of the first page of Google search results.
Treasurer Emma was pleased to report on the healthy state of the club’s finances and paid homage to her predecessor Nick for his excellent book-keeping and help when she was becoming acquainted with the role.
JP, our outgoing VP Education pointed out how his involvement as a club officer had facilitated growth in several areas he had not anticipated. He claimed to be more organised now, and asserted how becoming a club officer will change you from being a taker to giver. JP was thrilled with the club’s current 9/10 (President’s Distinguished) DCP goals yet still challenged us to lock in two more CC’s before June 30 for a 10/10 clean sweep!
“I am really proud of this club today” began our outgoing President Gary. After beginning the year with some pretty lofty aspirations, twelve months later Gary had nothing but praise to hand out for the club and the level of excellence it had achieved. “In my 13 years of Toastmasters, this is the first time I’ve been in a club which achieved Presidents Distinguished status. We’ve all done exceptionally well, and it’s great to have that recognised.”
Then with Gary’s pride and praise fresh in our minds, we voted in the club officers for the next 12 months, effective July 1.
